Artwork guidelines:

The quality of a printed project depends greatly on the quality of artwork submitted.  Reminiscence Publishing checks each artwork file for accuracy and quality, but following the provided guidelines will help ensure faster turn around and desired results.

Our preferred file format is CMYK PDF, however files may be uploaded in any of the following formats:  doc, ai, bmp, eps, gif, jpeg, jpg, png, psd, tif, zip or pdf.  If a file is created in a professional design program, please convert to cmyk pdf before sending, if possible.  For artwork to be considered print ready, it must meet the following guidelines:

When working with image editing or desktop publishing programs, always:
• Create all images in at least 300 dpi resolution.  Graphics on screen are typically 72 dpi and most clip art sources are significantly less than 300 dpi.  When using outside images, they should be converted to 300 dpi or greater.  Submitting files at less than 300 dpi may result in blurry output.
• Create or convert file to CMYK format
• For bleeds (where the ink runs to the edge of the printed piece), make sure the bleeding image extends beyond edge of paper by 1/16” on all sides.  By example, if a 4 x 6 post card will have a solid color front, the document should be set to 4.125”x6.125” with the solid color filling the entire area.  If supported in the software, the easiest way to accomplish this is to select the bleed option when setting up the file, and set the parameters to .125”.
• Ensure that no critical image or text falls within 1/16” of the cut edge.
• Convert all text to curves or outlines
• Flatten the image (creates a single image from multiple layers)
• Be sure to include cut marks when applicable
Please refer to the template for your particular project.  Templates illustrate size, positioning, bleeds, cut lines and can be imported directly into many image editing programs for use.
